I live in Montana, always buy my cars off the web and I usually buy them out of state. A partner of mine in Redding CA. told me about this Ford Explorer Limited that matched what I was looking for in Cottonwood CA... Called the dealer, Matt at "All Cars Motors". Matt was very friendly(I mean small town country friendly), DID NOT act like a typical car salesman that you want to hang up on. After a good discussion with Matt I had my partner in Redding heading over to Matt's lot to look at the car for me. My partner said it looked and drove good..I called Matt back and explained that I always have a neutral shop do an inspection for me and Matt was happy to follow thru, he even delivered the car and picked it up from the inspection station I chose. This is all taking place over several days time. Matt and I negotiated and came to a price that worked for both of us. A pleasant negotiation with Matt. Absolutely NO run around.
Since Calif. wont honor Montana's "no sales tax" lifestyle, and since I would never pay a tax to that state we were in a fix on the deal.
..."Matt comes to the rescue"...Matt says, "let me call you back in a while,I may have an idea"..He sure did, He offered to have his dad (Dennis)trailer the vehicle to Medford Ore. where I would take delivery with a "delivered out of state form". So, I flew into Medford, Dennis was waiting for me at the airport, I drove the car around, sealed the deal. Went and got the form notarized , then Dennis took me to the Medford DMV where he walked me thru getting a temporary 21 day tag to get me home..I had so much fun and in common with Dennis I wish I could have spent the whole day with him(ask him to show you his mule deer pics)..Bottom line: I buy cars from all over, Matt and his operation are top notch, his personality is small town country wonderful. He even filled the gas tank full ahead of time for me.
Feel as though I made some new friends. He will be the first lot in the country that I look into whenever doing a vehicle search from now on.
